Findlay Courier: 3 townships, Findlay schools join OhioCheckbook.com

Findlay Courier
March 3, 2017

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel on Friday announced that Marion Township, Cass Township and Delaware Township in Hancock County, and the Findlay City School District have joined the state’s online checkbook, OhioCheckbook.com.

Mandel launched the website in December 2014 to boost transparency of public spending.

The treasurer’s office was joined at Friday’s announcement by Marion Township Fiscal Officer Jeanie Ploeger, Marion Township Trustee John Wolfe, and Marion Township Citizens Transparency Committee members Toni Altvater and Marty Taoras. Cass Township Fiscal Officer Lori Ballinger Morehead and Trustees Jerry Wolford and Ron Stacy also joined in the announcement.

Marion Township, Cass Township and Delaware Township are the first townships in Hancock County to post their spending on OhioCheckbook.com, the treasurer’s office said. Findlay City Schools is the first school district in the county to post its spending on the state website.
