Wesley A. Galloway is a senior project manager at the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and is a frequent speaker on governmental accounting.  He serves as the GASB liaison to governmental utilities, hospitals, and higher education organizations.  In 1996, Mr. Galloway left public accounting to join the GASB technical and research staff and subsequently has worked on numerous Statements and projects.  Current projects include leases, debt extinguishments, asset retirement obligations, and the financial reporting model reexamination.

Mr. Galloway has also conducted research on the effectiveness of GASB standards as a research fellow at the Financial Accounting Foundation, which oversees the GASB.

Mr. Galloway is a graduate of Brigham Young University and is a member of the AICPA.

Scott Reeser is a supervising project manager with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) in Norwalk, Connecticut. He is currently working on GASB projects related to fiduciary activities, reexamination of the financial reporting model, and debt disclosures. Previously, he has worked on projects leading to statements on accounting and financial reporting for postemployment benefits, financial guarantees, and transactions reported as deferred outflows of resources and deferred inflows of resources. Before joining the staff of the GASB in 2010, Mr. Reeser spent ten years working for the Office of the Comptroller in the State of Illinois. During that time, Mr. Reeser was responsible for the coordination and preparation of the state’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the development of statewide accounting policies. His previous experience also includes over five years with a public accounting firm performing financial and compliance audits of not-for-profit entities and governmental agencies. Mr. Reeser is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

David A. Vaudt was named chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board effective July 1, 2013. Mr. Vaudt came to the GASB after serving the previous 10 years as Iowa’s elected state auditor. Prior to his election, Mr. Vaudt worked for 25 years in the Des Moines, Iowa office of KPMG LLP, including 13 years as an audit partner. Mr. Vaudt has served as president of the National State Auditors Association, chair of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, and chair of the Iowa Accountancy Examining Board. He also served on the boards of numerous nonprofit service organizations in Iowa. Mr. Vaudt, a graduate of Upper Iowa University, is a Certified Public Accountant.

John is Dean and Executive Professor in the School of Management & Leadership at Capital University. In his current role, Gentner provides strategic oversight of Capital’s undergraduate graduate programs.

Prior to joining Capital in 2016, Gentner served as the MBA Director in the School of Business Administration at the University of Dayton. From 2004-2016, he taught courses in organizational behavior, leadership, and strategic management at both the undergraduate and graduate level. He helped develop UD’s MBA Capstone course which allows graduate students the opportunity to solve real world issues for area companies. He has also taught courses in a variety of international locations including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ireland. In addition to teaching, Gentner also is active in business consulting and serves on the advisory board of two for-profit companies located in the mid-west and on the Board of Directors of the BBB of Central Ohio.

With a business career that spans more than two decades, Gentner brings a significant amount of professional experience and practical knowledge into the classroom. He began his career in the investment industry as a licensed stock broker in 1985. Before transitioning to higher education, he spent 16 years with Fifth Third Bank, holding numerous business development and leadership positions before finishing his career as a Vice President of Institutional Investments for Fifth Third Securities, Inc. He earned a B.A. in Management from Capital University and his MBA from the University of Dayton.
