The City of Springdale Joins OhioCheckbook.gov

COLUMBUS – Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague announced today that the City of Springdale (Hamilton County) has joined OhioCheckbook.gov.

“The Ohio Checkbook promotes government transparency by providing residents with a direct line of sight into how tax dollars are managed and spent,” said Sprague. “We applaud the City of Springdale for demonstrating a commitment to transparency and we're proud to welcome the community as our newest Ohio Checkbook partner.”

The City of Springdale is the 54th local government entity in Hamilton County participating on OhioCheckbook.gov. The city’s checkbook includes 37,696 transactions representing more than $115 million in spending from fiscal years 2020 to 2023.

“The Ohio Checkbook will help us create a transparent, user-friendly way for the residents of the City of Springdale to examine our financial information,” said City of Springdale Mayor Lawrence Hawkins. “We are excited to participate in this program, and I think our residents will greatly benefit from having access to the information displayed on this website.”

OhioCheckbook.gov was launched in June 2020. The transparency website combined OhioCheckbook.com (previously administered by the Treasurer’s office) and Ohio’s Interactive Budget (previously operated by the Office of Budget and Management) to create a single, one-stop resource for taxpayers to learn more about spending at the state and local government levels.

By streamlining website administration, eliminating duplication, and reducing overall operating costs, OhioCheckbook.gov will keep government transparency at taxpayers’ fingertips for years to come.
