This class challenges outdated ethical theories and takes an unvarnished look at how people actually make ethical decisions in the real world when they are under pressure and no “best choice” is obvious. We will explore why ethics codes fail, how to assess tone at the top, and why we make different decisions than we predicted. We will conclude with an examination of methods we can use to improve ethical reasoning at the individual and organizational levels.
