This course will cover how a Washington Courthouse City School District went from a hands-on paper and time intensive purchasing process to an online automated private marketplace solution. The WCHCS Marketplace gives everyone in the district access to create online requests, online approvals, integration with their financial system and electronic transmission of purchase orders directly to the supplier. WCHCS will discuss the process from start to finish of the initial goals, implementation and resulting benefits and value realized through this digital transformation.
1 The course will provide practical, relevant and adaptable steps for other districts wishing to automate some or all existing purchasing processes. Some topics covered are reducing paper/mail handling, minimizing face to face interactions and reducing the time it takes from district employees wanting supplies o the delivery of those products. Understanding available online automation options and functionality helps ensure that the selected solution best fits the district needs.
