Copley Township Joins OhioCheckbook.com

Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague today announced that Copley Township (Summit County) has joined OhioCheckbook.com

“The Ohio Checkbook allows residents to see how their hard-earned dollars are put to use in their communities," said Treasurer Sprague. “Today, I'm happy to welcome Copley Township as our newest partner in the effort to achieve greater government transparency."

Copley Township is the fifth township in Summit County to join OhioCheckbook.com. The township’s online checkbook includes nearly 60,000 individual transactions that represent more than $74.3 million in spending from January 2013 through August 2019.

“If advancing a resolution to pass the Ohio Checkbook is the last thing I do as fiscal officer, I will consider my work for the people of Copley Township well done,” said Linda Peiffer, Copley Township Fiscal Officer. “I care deeply about doing right by the people of Copley Township. I am passionate about transparency. Implementing the Ohio Checkbook means providing better communications between community leaders and residents. It’s a win-win!”

Since its launch, OhioCheckbook.com has garnered the interest of those hoping to learn more about how Ohio’s tax dollars are spent.
