Norton City School District Joins OhioCheckbook.com

Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague today announced that the Norton City School District (Summit County) has joined OhioCheckbook.com

“Taxpayers expect public officials to operate in their best interest,” said Treasurer Sprague. “This commitment to transparency gives district residents a direct look at the decisions being made with their tax dollars.”

The Norton City School District is the fourth school district in Summit County to join OhioCheckbook.com. The district’s online checkbook includes more than 32,500 individual transactions that represent over $56.5 million in spending from January 2018 through September 2019.

“Norton City Schools considers the Ohio Checkbook a strong tool for a continued connection to our supportive community,” said Superintendent Dana Addis. “The district places a strong emphasis on community engagement, so transparency and knowledge in the area of finance is important to us. Our hope is that the Ohio Checkbook will further increase the trust we have already established with the stakeholders of Norton City Schools.”

Since its launch, OhioCheckbook.com has garnered the interest of those hoping to learn more about how Ohio’s tax dollars are spent.
