Statement from Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague on the Passage of H.B. 440

Ohio Gains Garners Support of the Ohio House

COLUMBUS – The following statement may be attributed to Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague regarding the Ohio House of Representative’s passage of House Bill 440, legislation to advance the Ohio Gains initiative:

“By taking quick action to approve the Ohio Gains proposal, the Ohio House has moved us closer to modernizing the Ag-LINK program and enhancing support for our state’s agriculture community. With inflation and supply chain issues causing new challenges for farm operators and job creators, Ohio Gains can ensure the Ag sector has access to an ample amount of lower-cost capital when it’s needed most.

“Additionally, the new and innovative investment strategies to support our hospitals and universities will further put our state’s balance sheet to work for Ohioans, our communities, and our institutions. I applaud the Ohio House for putting its support behind Ohio Gains, and I thank Representatives Swearingen and White for sponsoring this important measure.”
