Statement from Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague on the Passage of House Bill 166

Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague has released the following statement regarding the passage of House Bill 166, the biennial budget bill. The as-enacted budget includes language to establish the ResultsOHIO pay for success fund in the Ohio Treasurer’s office, as well as the first appropriation into the fund. The statement can be attributed to Treasurer Sprague:

“I applaud Governor DeWine, Speaker Householder, President Obhof and the rest of the General Assembly for passing a budget that will lift Ohioans and make our state a better place to live and work. With the new ResultsOHIO fund, we’ll leverage private sector solutions to tackle some of our state’s most challenging issues and create better outcomes for the people of Ohio. I thank Senator Steve Wilson and Representative Don Manning for their efforts in making ResultsOHIO a reality.

“Through ResultsOHIO, we look forward to partnering with Ohio’s local governments to bring projects to their communities that will drive innovation and responsible use of tax dollars. Ultimately, the issues we’ll take on with ResultsOHIO won’t be easy fixes, but they’re problems worth solving for our children and grandchildren.”
